How to improve the flatness quality of CNC plasma cutting

In the use of hot cutting processing, a very common problem is the slag dissolution of the cutting surface, that is, we will talk about the cutting flatness. Similar situation still exists for CNC plasma cutting machine. Considering that CNC plasma cutting machine is mainly used for cutting special materials such as stainless steel, slag dissolution is more difficult than carbon plate. This is how to reduce the number of finishing enterprises or users who want to reduce secondary processing. The residue of slag and the quality of cutting flatness are the concerns of many enterprises.

From the literal meaning, the so-called cutting surface flatness refers to the measured position on the cutting surface of the highest and lowest points, according to the direction of inclination of the cutting surface of the two parallel line spacing.

Generally speaking, there is a melting layer about 0.25-3.80 mm thick on the cutting surface processed by CNC plasma cutting machine, and the residual chemical composition of the slag is consistent with the material itself, including the chemical composition of the cutting surface has not changed. For example, if the content of magnesium metal is 5%, the content of magnesium will remain unchanged after the residual analysis of slag, even if the residual thickness of slag reaches 0.25mm, there is no oxide. If the cutting surface is directly welded, a compact weld can also be obtained. When cutting stainless steel, chromium carbide does not precipitate along grain boundaries because the heating zone passes through the critical temperature of 649 C very quickly. Therefore, cutting stainless steel with plasma arc will not affect its corrosion resistance. In other words, the residual slag in the permissible range does not affect the physical characteristics of cutting materials, but to reduce the slag thickness, by adjusting the CNC plasma cutting machine working gas pressure and cutting torch running speed can be achieved.
